The Choose Car menu, often referred to as the garage, is the menu in which the player can view the cars they have available to drive, and choose which one they will race in.

The screen generally displays an image of the vehicle, the name of the vehicle, and the portrait & name of the original owner.

Carmageddon & Splat Pack[]

Initially only the player's starter car is available (The Eagle or The Hawk), and new vehicles are added randomly via the Stealworthy mechanic. Upon completion of the game, all vehicles are unlocked for play in this menu, as well as several colour variants of the Eagle and Hawk - Vehicles that were not stolen (or not available to be) have a banner across one corner reading 'CHEAT!'. These vehicles do not have custom interiors, instead using the Eagle's. The same system applies to the Splat Pack.

Carmageddon II[]

A similar system to Carmageddon is used, only the Stealworthy mechanic has been replaced with buying the cars in the Wrecks Gallery. All cars and some colour varients are again unlocked on completion, but there are no cheat banners and all have custom interiors.

Due to a glitch, sometimes some of the player's cars will disappear from the "garage", if the player possesses all/a lot of vehicles. This can be further noticed if any custom vehicles have been installed. This also affects the wrecks gallery, in the way that some cars might be labeled with their price, rather than saying that the player already owns it.

Carmageddon: TDR 2000[]

As well as selecting vehicles, players can also upgrade their APO stats on this screen.

Carmageddon (PlayStation)[]

The cars are displayed in a grid. This is the same screen where they are bought: opponent vehicles are made available to buy (using credits earned during races) a couple at a time as the game progresses. All cars are unlocked upon completion of the game.

Carmageddon 64[]

The player can have a maximum of six cars in their garage, bought from the Wrecks Gallery; If they wish to purchase a new vehicle, they must first sell a car in the garage. This limit only applies to the single player campaign, and can be overridden using cheats.

Carmageddon (Game Boy Color)[]

All cars are present in the choose car screen, but only some of them are owned by the player. To be able to use the other cars, the player must first buy them, using this screen.
