The choose race screen is where the player chooses what race to participate in next, if (s)he has that choice. In some games, this menu might not always appear (for instance, immediately after starting a new game). Normally, the player can only choose from a limited list, but once the game is complete, all levels are free to be chosen.

Carmageddon[]

If the player hasn't complete all races yet, (s)he can only choose those in a certain range from his/her current rank. If all races have been finished, the player can choose from any one.

Carmageddon II[]

The player may only choose one of the three races of the current group, or the mission, if it's unlocked. When the game is finished, all groups can be accessed by pressing the left and right arrows.

This screen is part of the main menu.

Carmageddon TDR 2000[]

As with Carmageddon II, the player can only choose a level from the current group, and if the game is complete, every level is free to be raced on. Although, this time around, the player must complete a race in order to unlock the next, whereas 3 races were already available at the start of a group, in Carmageddon II.

Carmageddon (PlayStation)[]

The player may only choose a race / mission from within the current group. When one group is completed, the game automatically moves to the next, only allowing the selection of races in that 'level'. When the game is finished, all groups can be accessed by pressing the left and right arrows.
