- Herman Munster was the lead character in 1960s sitcom The Munsters, while the Monster Mash was a 1962 novelty song. Both involved vampires, Frankenstein's monster and the like.
- The Monster Masher is a late 1980s Ford F-Series pickup.
- The Masher's tyres are made by Firestarter. A decal on the bodywork reads "MrLogo".
- In the PlayStation version, this vehicle is driven by Junior.
